About the Book
Birds of a Feather is a true story about two ducks — Howard, a Pekin duck, and Charlie, a mallard — who find belonging together at Mallards' Rest on the Tred Avon River in Talbot County, Maryland. It's a full-color, 36-page hardcover picture book for ages 4–8, published under Third Haven Press.
The illustrations in Birds of a Feather began as the author's own photographs of Howard and Charlie, taken on the Tred Avon River. Those photographs were then stylized with software and AI tools, under the author's full creative direction, into the finished illustrations you see in the book.

About the Author
Lisa A. Craig is the author and artist of Birds of a Feather, her first book. She lives in Talbot County, Maryland, on the property where Howard and Charlie's story took place. Lisa has spent more than 25 years in publishing as an Art Director for national and international consumer and trade magazines, ran her own design agency producing book covers and jackets for more than 50 titles, and worked at a book production company before creating her own first book.

Local Author Debuts True Story of Two Ducks Who Found Home on the Tred Avon River
Easton, Maryland — Lisa A. Craig, a Talbot County author and longtime magazine art director, has published her first book, Birds of a Feather: A True Story of Being Lost and Finding Home, under her own imprint, Third Haven Press.
The 36-page hardcover picture book tells the true story of Howard, a Pekin duck, and Charlie, a mallard, who found belonging together at Mallards' Rest on the Tred Avon River — the property where Craig lives. The book is aimed at readers ages 4–8.
Craig brings more than 25 years of publishing experience to the project, having worked as an Art Director for national and international consumer and trade magazines, run her own design agency producing covers and jackets for more than 50 titles, and worked at a book production company. Birds of a Feather is her first book as an author.
Birds of a Feather is available now for individual order at $20.99 through the author's one-time presale — readers who order by September 21 are guaranteed a copy, with delivery by the end of October. The book will also be distributed through IngramSpark this fall, making it available to bookstores, schools, and libraries nationwide.
